Offical Time

I'm not quite sure how I feel about this yet. I mean, I'm happy that I met my goal, and amazed at how close I was. But I'm also a bit bummed because I actually thought I might beat my goal by a few minutes. I guess I should be happy since I hit a new PR and took 15 minutes off of last year's time.

I felt like CRAP for the first 4 miles. I don't think I went out too fast or anything like that because my pace felt good, I just felt like things weren't clicking. I walked for about 30 seconds at an aid station to get my heart rate down and that seemed to do the trick. And just like every year, it looks like I'll be losing one of my toenails.

It's that time again

After several months of no posts I figure it's time to get back on the blogging wagon. Trying to get time, let alone interesting topics that the few of you out there would actually read has been the biggest road block. Let's just get back into it and see how it goes.

It's also time again for the annual sufferfest, The Race to Robie Creek. This race is known as "The Toughest Half-Marathon in the Northwest". The elevation gain is 2296 feet in the first 8.5 miles. Then 1700 feet down in the final 4.5 miles.

HOLY LOWER-BODY-CRAMPAGE BAT MAN! This will be my 4th time running Robie and so far I've set a new PR every time. This year I'm looking to shave about 25 minutes off of last years time. My new goal is:

During the past 4 months I've dropped 30lbs thanks to Taylor and Heather who put a Biggest Loser competition. Yes, I was the biggest loser (yeah, yeah, in more ways than one, very funny). But thanks to my new found fitness my legs have gotten pretty fast and my lactic-acid-pain-threshold is as high as it's ever been. I'm shooting for top ten in my age group. I'll images and finish times when it's all over.
